Make a Spooky But Cute Halloween Sensory Bin
My girls LOVED these sensory bins that I made for them last year and the best part– I put a lid on them, stored them with my Halloween decor, and just pulled them back out this year! It’s like they are seeing them for the first time again!

Sensory activities are a great way to develop fine motor in young children from toddlers to preschoolers. They also encourage creativity, imagination and foster independent play. My girls thrive on the open-ended possibilities of a sensory bin and BONUS– I love pulling our bins out while I’m making a meal or have a few minutes of work that I need to tend to.
Children learn so much by just exploring and playing. I like to include wooden letters for matching upper and lower case or wooden numbers for sorting spiders, etc. I also always include tools such as scoops or funnels. These are great opportunities to practice those practical life skills such as scooping and pouring.
Here are some links to some fun items that I hope will inspire you to make a spooky but cute Halloween sensory bin of your own!
I used an inexpensive bin I had on hand, but this would be so fun to mix up in a plastic Cauldron as well.
- You could even stir it up with some Skeleton Tongs instead of scoops!
- Pink Shred (or any color you wish!)
- Poly Fiber Fill (spider webbing would work too!)
- Mixed Size Wiggle Eyes
- Bats/Bugs
- Glitter Spiders
- Spider Rings
- Wooden Number/Alphabet
- Sensory Scoop Set | Single Scoop
